Getting Your Life Back

Hemorrhoids and their painful symptoms can be treated with certain types of foods beyond the consumption of a regular hemorrhoids diet. Onion or garlic can help lessen swelling and eradicate bacteria. Remove a portion of the garlic or onion—preferably the surface and then slide it into the rectum. This helps get rid of fecal matter, bacteria and reduces soreness. If your hemorrhoids are bleeding, do not use this form of treatment.
Another choice is lemon juice. With the peel still in place, cut the lemon into four equal parts. Boil the lemon pieces for about 15 minutes in a liter of water. To help stop constipation and make bowel movements easier, drink one cup of the lemon water daily. The capillary tubes and the blood vessels also gain strength from the lemon juice mixture.
Another option is potato suppositories. Peel the skin off of the potato and slice it into small pieces shaped like a cone. Place the potato inside your rectum three times a week, just like you would insert a suppository. This will encourage proper bowel movements and decrease pain.
